Cronkshaw Fold Farm presents:
An evening of outstanding food, film and farmers.
EAT: Chef Mike Harrison, founder of the acclaimed Bolton Food & Drink Festival and director of Chef to Go, will be cooking up a three-course feast of seasonal sensations to eat in stages throughout the evening, with ingredients supplied by the farmers attending the event.
WATCH: Producer Claire Mackenzie will introduce her critically-acclaimed film, 6 Inches of Soil - a story of British farmers fighting the industrial food system and changing how they produce food to improve the soil, people’s health and local communities.
ENGAGE: Talk to the local farmers who have grown the produce you’ll be enjoying throughout the evening during the post-film-screening Q&A - a panel of the most innovative, environmentally-ambitious farmers from across the North West:
Emma and Ian Robinson of Gazegill Organics and Emma’s Dairy, Gisburn, Lancashire. Emma and Ian run their own dairy, butchers, on-farm and online farm shop and restaurant.
James Nuttal of Hens on the Hill, Blackburn, Lancashire. Jimmy has a self-serve, farm shop vending machine stocked with rotationally-grazed hens eggs from his Richard Perkins’-style ‘egg mobiles’, along with stocking produce from other local farms.
Chris Price of Wincle Grange, The Peak District. Chris and a band of volunteers have planted over 11,000 trees across his family farm, whilst converting the land from traditional farming to agroforestry silvopasture.
Richard Atton of Bowland Treecraft Ltd, Forest of Bowland. Richard is a professional tree planter and timber-framed building constructor and has personally planted over 3,000,000 trees across the UK.
Paul Haywood of Bee Local apiary, Bolton. Paul and his son, Tom, have around 200 beehives, from which they sell raw honey and beeswax. They also offer beekeeping training and educational experiences to schools and other community groups.
